Megan Hinman, CMHC S/T

Pre-licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Liberty University

My approach to counseling is active and holistic, tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. By integrating evidence-based practices, I address the interconnectedness of physical health, mental well-being, and emotional resilience, emphasizing practical solutions and genuine support.

I have experience treating clients with a variety of challenges including emotional dysregulation, addiction, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, self-esteem issues, complex trauma, family, parenting, and relationship problems. I am also competent in career counseling and Christian integration for those to whom faith is a priority.

My approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Existential therapy, EMDR, and somatic therapy. In other words, I focus on your strengths while helping you change through increasing body connection and awareness, regulating your nervous system, examining core beliefs, increasing distress tolerance, and improving positive coping skills and confidence.

If you have a goal, want to feel better, or just feel stuck, I’m here for you.
