Three tips to be more productive

We need to fight the DRIFT to mediocrity.

When we aren’t being intentional, we tend to backslide into doing the bare minimum.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to be more intentional, whether it’s at work, home, school, or in your relationships:

1. When do I find myself doing this?
2. Is it when I’m stressed?
3. Have I grown complacent?
4. Am I not being recognized for my hard work?
5. Am I burned out?

Set your intentions or goals, then take small steps each day to achieve them.

We also need to fight DISTRACTIONS.

Where are my ADHD peeps? Yep, this one is something that I struggle with, especially as an Enneagram Type 9! I can get busy doing all the things that don’t need my immediate attention, just so I can avoid the one thing that I need to be doing.

How can you clear out distractions in your life?

Is it social media?

Is working from home distracting you?

Do you have enough balance in your life?

If we don’t get adequate sleep, a moderate amount of exercise, proper nutrition, and activities that fill us creatively, socially, spiritually, then we are more prone to distractions.

The third thing that we need to fight against is DISCOURAGEMENT.

If things don’t go our way, we don’t just throw in the towel and say “See, I knew I couldn’t do this.” This needs to be seen as an opportunity to problem-solve. Get creative! Learn from your mistakes!

Only compare yourself to yourself. Don’t compare yourself to your best friend, or your colleague, or the highlight reel on someone’s social media feed.

Are you doing better than you were six months ago? Why or why not?

These are the 3-D’s that we need to be aware of in order to be productive and successful. Let me know what you think! Do you have any additional tips for us? Drop them in the comments below.
